Highly lustrous jet black hausmannite crystals. Crystal pyramids of varying sizes are clearly visible, the largest of which is about 6mm in length. This specimen displays beautifully in a number of positions, and is in superb condition.
Hausmanite is a rare oxide from the manganese fields. Being a manganese rich area there are a variety of manganese oxides from the area – Manganite, bixbyite etc. The easiest way to differentiate hausmanite from other minerals is by the pyramidal form of its crystalization.
Hausmanite is a stone for releasing and moving forward. By strengthening and stabilizing the base chakra it creates space to safely engage that which requires change. Hausmanite from the Kalahari Desert traditionally forms in pyramid shaped crystals. This cluster is a classic example of this – with hundreds of lustrous black pyramids resonating in unison.
