Ettringite crystals encrusted matrix. Yellow-green ettringite crystals contrast brightly against the jet black manganite matrix. The ettringite crystals are not very lustrous, but they have intergrown over a bed of manganite crystals. These are a mixture of highly lustrous small crystals mixed with larger sphenoidal manganite crystals.
This specimen is in good condition and displays well in two positions.
Ettringite is a stone of Truth and faith, with a hint of green that invokes the energy of the heart chakra. Manganite is heavy, strong and grounded. This specimen is a combination of ettringite’s high vibrational energy and the stability manganese. Manganese is the mineral that gives amethyst its purple colour, but in this form it provides a very different energy.
